Didn't end up replacing any rocker arms on my horizontal cylinder so I have that one finished. Curious though: without sanding down shims I was able to get clearances to within +/-0.03mm of LT's suggested 0.1mm all around (e.g. left exhaust closer is 0.08mm and opener is 0.13mm).

I selected one rocker with a good bore and made a checking jig with just 1/2 thou clearance in the bore so its just a nice push fit. It was turned between centres so all features are true.
